me: Wouldn't go...? Oh, that's because that's a web address. It opens up a website. It's not quite the same as an email address.
Okaa-san: So you can't send emails to it?
me: No no, not to a web address. With a web address, you put that in the browser-- "browser" is okay, right?-- and hit Go and a website opens up with lots of information on it, I think. This one down here is the email address.
Okaa-san: Ooh, so emails don't work well for this one.
me: They're impossible, cos it's a different thing. But you can definitely send emails here. See this symbol? You've seen it before, right?
Okaa-san: Yes, the At mark.
me: Email addresses always have an At symbol in them, that's how you know they're email addresses. So if you send it here it'll definitely go.
Okaa-san: Oh, okay. I kept trying to send this one an email but it kept saying something was wrong.
me: Exactly. This one will take you to a website, but if you use this one for the email address, I'm sure it will go through.
Okaa-san: Oh, I see! Okay, I'll use this one instead.
